SECTOR SEMINAR:
PERSONAL CARE INDUSTRY – TRENDS AND CHALLENGES
One milestone for Brazil and the sector in 2017 W
was the achievement of an ABIHPEC Sector Sem-
inar, a new format of segmented debate created CHECK THE
by the Entity’s communication and marketing de- WEBSITE
partment in partnership with the outlet O Estado
de S. Paulo.
The construction of the Seminar followed ABI-
HPEC’s branding precepts and included the estab-
lishment of a content platform to support the topics
under discussion called “Caring for Brazil is Essen-
tial.” The name refers to the pillar of essentiality,
one of the strongest topics of the year, reinforcing
the importance of CT&F health products to society,
as well as well-being and economic contribution.
“It was a great moment for 2017, in which
we had the opportunity to discuss topics of ex-
treme relevance within the Cosmetics, Toiletries
and Fragrances sector, with experts and related
authorities.”
The event discussed the main challenges of
the sector with the participation of government of-
ficials, such as Luis Carlos Hauly, Federal Deputy
and Rapporteur of the Special Committee on Tax
Reform; and João Tavares Neto, General Manager
of Cosmetics of the National Health Surveillance
Agency (ANVISA), as well as representatives of
market players and specialists in taxation, regula-
tion, and consumer behavior.
Two panels marked the action: “The Market and
the Taxation of the Sector” and “Innovations of the
Sector and the Challenge of Regulation.”
Both the Seminar and the content platform
brought to the communication the tools and un-
derstandings necessary for the definition of new
proprietary activities, already scheduled for 2018.
